The girls are making personalized journals out of inexpensive composition books (my sample is pictured above).
We told girls on Friday that they can continue to cut out pictures/words from magazines they have at home (after first asking!) and bringing them in this Friday to add to their collection. The girls are going to need letters to spell out their names and probably about 20 other items (other words/phrases or pictures).
They should be looking for a variety of sizes in order to create some contrast and should be able to pick one thing (word/picture) to be their focal point (usually the biggest item).
We did run out of magazines and are doing an all call to parents to send in magazines if you can on Friday.
